Day 6: Muir Woods and Tiburon

Imagine, you're peacefully dreaming in a nice comfy bead and then RING RING RING RING. The phone starts ringing at 7 in the morning. I was still half asleep and was so confused. It ended up being grandpa, calling us to see if we were ready to go! And we were all still in bead haha. So we were like, um let's leave a little later. So we kind of laid in bed and then got up and got ready. While we were getting ready, Princess Diaries came on, and we realized that the movie takes place in San Francisco! We nerded out for a minute haha.
Then we hopped into the car and we started driving to Muir Woods. When we got to the Golden Gate Bridge, it was covered in fog! It was insane! All the water was covered in fog and you couldn't even see like halfway up the bridge! Really cool! And then we drove through Sausilito and it's just really green and beautiful! Everything is just a little more quiet and peaceful there. It really is a pretty town! And then we kept driving into Muir Woods. This was hands down, the best way we could have ended our trip. It's breathtaking. I seriously can't think of words to describe to you how majestic and peaceful the Woods are up there. You walk on about a two mile trail and the trees are HUGE! And the air is just so clear and the smell is so fresh! It was so relaxing after being in the busy city for a week! And we even saw a bride and groom going out of the woods, because they had just had their wedding there. How cool!! We saw two deer on the trails and on the way out we saw a baby fox!! And then we stopped and got a few little souvenirs. And then we drove back out of the woods, and of course, since we were in Sausilito and it was our last day, we stopped back at Dario's pizza. SO GOOD. It's honestly the best pizza you'll ever eat, and the people who run it are so kind! We really did meet some of the coolest and sweetest people on this trip! And then on our way out, we asked if we could buy some of the bread that they served us before the pizza, and it kind of caught him off guard haha. And so he sold us two loaves for two dollars! I was like giddy happy about it haha. I don't know why, I mean it was really good bread, and I was just real excited haha.
And so after we were done with pizza, one of the ladies there told us we had to go to this town called Tiburon, so we drove for a while, felt like we got lost a lot, I fell asleep for some amount of time, and then I woke up and we were in this little town. This town captured my heart right away, it's right on the marina with a bunch of boats at the dock and it had the cutest little Main Street in the world. You walk down and there are hanging signs and the cutest flower boxes outside the store windows! Something like out of a fairytale! So mom and dad and I walked down their main street and stopped in to get icecream at the candy store and then we went and sat on a bench right next to the water. It was just so simple and quiet and calm. Those are the feelings I want to take home with me. I get so rushed and anxious at home, that I forget to just stop and feel the calm and quiet.
And so we ate our icecream there, and then walked back to the car, where grandpa and grandma were taking a little snooze. Mom and I stopped to take some pictures and I guess dad went and scared the daylights out of sleeping grandpa haha.
And so then we drove back to the hotel and drove up to the 11th floor of the parking garage for the last time. It seemed to go a lot faster than before haha.
And then we dropped off all of our stuff, and went downstairs to the lobby and ate our leftover pizza for dinner. Then we just all sat there and talked for quite a while. It's a happening place down in the lobby! Cool to see everyone coming and going.
And then we went back up to our rooms and re packed all of our bags, because everything was just kind of all over, and we all took showers, so getting ready the next morning would be easy. And we just hung out, I wrote this blog post, dad read his Alcatraz book, and that's really the end of our stay here, I guess. It was absolutely so different than I had pictured, but it was different in the absolute best way! Everything exceeded my expectations and I got to do so many things! We learned so much! I learned about different cultures and so much history and I HUNG ON THE SUDE OF A TROLLEY CAR haha. It's kind of unreal still! And today was the cherry on top! I hope I never forget how amazing this trip was and I never take any of it for granted! Everyday in my prayers I thanked my Father in Heaven that I got the opportunity to come here. It was a dream come true! THANK YOU SAN FRANCISCO!
"Kid don't sell your dreams, so soon
Everywhere you look, everywhere you go
There's a heart (There's a heart), a hand to hold onto.
Everywhere you look, everywhere you go
There's a place, of Somebody who needs you
Everywhere you look.
When you're lost out there and you're all alone,
A light is waiting to carry you home.
Everywhere you look.
Everywhere you look."

  1. Oh my goodness, that fog! And those trees! That's a dream. And a wedding! I would totally get married there if, yknow. But families can be forever 👌
