Day 2: Golden Gate Park, Painted Ladies and Fisherman's Wharf
Today we woke up and got dressed. I had the craziest dream haha. And then we got all ready, and we ate breakfast at the hotel which was nice. Then we checked out of that hotel and packed all of our stuff back into the car. Then we decided to go see The Painted Ladies. After driving around for a million years, we finally found them haha. So we walked up to the park across from them and they were so beautiful! I turned on the Full House theme song and danced in the park, and it was actually a dream come true haha. And so we took pictures, and grandpa was just kept telling us he had no clue why we would care so much about houses haha. But I thought it was awesome! And then we got back in the car, and we decided to go to Golden Gate Park. We first went to the Conservatory of Flowers. Apparently it's the oldest conservatory in the world. And it was so cute inside! So many cool plants, but it was so hot haha. And they had a butterfly room, where you could go and walk around while a ton of butterflies fly around! It really was awesome! And the yard in front of the conservatory was even more beautiful! There were some really cool art pieces out there, and the pavement was painted with butterflies.
So then we wanted to go to the Japanese Tea Gardens, which were just farther down in Golden Gate Park It took us so long to find parking, but it was worth it! We walked out into this huge area filled with ancient looking buildings and trees and fountains. We walked through the open area and went and got some fruit and muffins from some little food stands. And we sat on some benches and we ate our food. And then we walked over to the Japanese Tea Garden entrance. We walked in, and it was amazing! You just walk through, and the scenery is so green and pretty! It was really peaceful, and we got some cute souvenirs from the little shop there.
Then we drove out of Golden Gate Park, and we decided to go check into the new Hotel. We arrived and it was like night and day difference from out last hotel haha. We walked in, and it felt so ritzy haha. We went and sat on the nice cushioned couches while Dad and Grandpa checked us into the hotel. It was a little weird seeing an open bar just in the lobby, because we don't really ever see that, but whatever haha. And so we checked in, and our hotel was on the 11th floor! So we took all of our stuff up to the rooms, and they were awesome! I was mostly excited because, my whole life, I never got to sleep on a hotel bed, because my parents and brothers always got the beds, but this time I got a bed all to myself. Wahoo haha. And so we unpacked, and then we decided to go down to Pier 39. It was awesome!! It was super busy, but so fun! There was a hilarious performer on the dock, and there's a million places to shop, and you can go see all of the seals laying out on the docks! We ate dinner at a place called Chowder. They mostly serve fish and clam chowder, but I ordered chicken haha. I'm not brave enough to try fish yet. And so then we shopped till we dropped, literally. I thought my feet would fall off haha. And then once it got pretty late, we walked back to the car and drove back to the hotel. And that was about all for the night!
