The things that make me, me.
The human mind jumps to conclusions
A one second judgement is born from appearance
And there is a problem with that
Because the things that make me who I am
Are not apparent to the quick judgmental eye
So why do we make one second judgements?
Because our world is driven
By what's "pleasurable" to the eye
And we say we can see each other,
But we are mistaken with blindness
You cannot know a person from a one second look
So stop judging, because you have not read their book.
I wrote this because I just really want to get the point across that we have no right to judge each other. You could miss out on friendship and growth and learning opportunities by those quick one second judgement. The things that make me who I am are not a part of my appearance.
The way I laugh like a dying animal. The way I dance in my kitchen and grocery store and room even though I can't dance. The way I over think everything, and I am not spontaneous. That my biggest fears are talking to boys and elevators. I cry during Disney Channel shows and I bake something almost everyday. I love seeing people smile and I love hugs from my little cousins. I miss my brothers more than I should. I have Type One Diabetes, and I like that it makes me different. I believe in the good in people. I go to bed early and wake up early. I love to workout and I love to buy flowers for other people. These are the things that make me who I am. If you judged me just from my outside, you would never know any of that about me. So stop judging others, because you have not read their story. And I'm sure that if we could all read each other's stories, we would treat each other a lot differently.
