Blessed with Brothers
Today I really missed my brothers, but really that's everyday. So I wanted to write a post about some of my favorite times with them.
1. Camping! We always had to sleep all together on a little bed, and we caught minnows together. We would all play games together. We usually brought our scooters and bikes and would ride around together. One particular time we went to Bear Lake just our family, and I have some of the best memories. They had a big dance party, and we all went out there and danced together. And another day Zac and I rode our bikes around the campground playing a game, which I don't even remember, but it doesn't matter. It's still one of my most favorite memories.
2. Moving. Yes moving is scary, but with brothers it's not too bad. One of my all time favorite memories was moving out of our house in Idaho. We had moved all of our furniture out, so all of us slept in sleeping bags in my room on the floor. Not that we got any sleep (:
3. Backstreet Boys and Avril Levine: I swear, these were the soundtracks to our childhood. Beside the country that my mom played in the car. We know the lyrics to all the songs to this day! One day we were all in the basement listening to music in the Boy's room, and I was jumping around and fell into the splits haha. We laughed for so long.
4. THE HIT BALL GAME! We created this game when we were kids. We lived for this game. It was the most fun and we could all play together. We played it inside, outside, on the trampoline. I will never forget those memories.
5. Car jams! When Jon took me to Seminary every morning in Ninth Grade we jammed out like crazy. Very thankful for those jam sessions.
6. Tamagotchi's! We felt like the coolest kids when we had our Tamagotchi's! We would all connect and play together. Oh my gosh, those were honestly the best times.
7. Ghost lights. We used to all walk to school in Idaho and it would get really foggy in the morning, and when we saw cars coming through the fog, we would yell ghost lights! Silly, but I think it was cute.
8. Moving to Idaho. You have to understand, this was a big move, and it was a hard time, but it was also really fun. I remember going through houses, and we always called which room would be ours. And I remember being in this random building in Idaho, and we were convinced it was haunted haha. And when my dad told us "It's all downhill from here" (as in the road) and Zac said "You mean our lives are going to get worse?" Haha. And playing Mario Party in the basement and somehow Zac and McKell always won!
9.One morning we had all woken up to go eat breakfast, and we were all going to eat cereal. And Jon used the rest of the juice we had in his cereal. Zac and I were outraged, and at that moment we were mad, but it is really funny to think about now haha.
10. One time my parents left Zac in charge to make us dinner. Rookie mistake. Haha. How easy is it to make macaroni from the box. Obviously it is rocket science. So he made it, but didn't strain the water, so we had this soup of macaroni and water, and none of us could figure out what was wrong haha.
11. Having a sleep over on Christmas Eve. My favorite tradition, and it probably won't ever happen again.
12. Exploring behind Grandpa and Grandma's house. We seriously thought it was Neverland back there and we were explorers. It felt kind of sketchy but also really fun haha.
13. Dancing all together at Zac and Em's wedding. Because that was the last time it would be just the three of us, and that was hard to let him go. But now I have a bonus sibling!
14. When we dropped Jon off at the airport. Now this was not necessarily a happy moment. But we were all there together. Just us, and I miss that a lot. But I can't think about it or I will just cry.
Everyone tells me that I'm lucky to be the last child at home because I'm so spoiled, but I would much rather have my brothers back than other things. I'm so thankful that I was so close to my brothers, and I know there will be great times ahead. If I could say one thing to them it would be thank you. Because they always included me, even when their friends didn't always want me around, and for that I am eternally thankful. I'm grateful that I get to spend eternity with two of the silliest yet most amazing brothers in the world. I love you Zac and Jon.
