The more people you love, the happier you are
My Sunday School teacher today said, "The more people you love, the happier you are." It just made me really realize that happiness doesn't come from the things of the world, but from your loved ones. I think we don't fully understand how blessed we are to have families and friends who care about and love us. I want to share some experiences from this last week of people that I love making my life happier (:
- Zac and Emily came and took me out to eat. Altogether, it was really awkward and funny and I wouldn't have had it any other way. It made me happy that they took time to just sit and talk to me. They asked me questions about how I was doing the whole time, and they just listened to me. That is love.
- We went to a baby shower for my parent's cousin's wife, and she remembered us and was so sweet! We have only met a few times, but she treated us like we were best friends.
- I got a letter in the mail from Sister Killian. She never fails to make me happy. Her letters are simple, but they mean so much to me. She always makes me smile and I'm so very grateful that Heavenly Father put her in our lives.
- My little cousins were at our ward today for a baby blessing and after sacrament they came and ran over to me and gave me the best hugs in the world. I wouldn't trade that moment for anything. They told me they wanted to have a play date with me soon and that we could play basketball together. Even though, someday they will grow up and probably not think their cousin Emma is so cool anymore, I cherish the moments that I get to spend with them right now. They honestly make me so very happy.
- Some very sweet person brought flowers to me on the day I really needed it. I don't know who it was, but I sure do love them. I smiled for about 3 hours after I saw the flowers on my porch. I know that Heavenly Father is aware of us and he wants us to be happy.
I have seen so many people who are miserable because they are so judgmental and unwelcoming of other people. When you let other people bug you, it is only hurting you. When you judge others before you get to know them, you will miss out on meeting so many cool people. I honestly think we should all love everyone, because as my teacher said beautifully, The more people you love, the happier you are.
